How can Dragon work for hospice physicians?
Dragon Medical Practice Edition 2 is particularly well-suited to help hospice physicians get their work done effectively and efficiently. Hospice physicians review their colleagues’ medical records to summarize all findings into their own note. In our electronic age, this requires opening and closing many electronic documents and visiting many data sources. Hospice physician must dictate what type pertinent summaries on each record, and then add all the summaries to a single document. Practice Edition 2’s hidden mode/dictation box feature (re-designed in this version), allows hospice physicians to dictate as they browse through any data source. It’s a great way to work.
Our EMR is particular to the hospice care environment. Nobody has ever heard of it! Will Dragon work in it?
Most hospice physicians use EMRs specific to hospice care that are not shared with other branches of medicine. These special EMRs tend to be very narrative heavy; hospice doctors type a lot. To date, Dragon Medical works with every hospice-specific EMR that we have encountered. Our customers learn to use Dragon’s hidden mode/dictation box feature to summarize data efficiently.
What if our hospice organization doesn’t have an EMR yet?
Hospice physicians can begin to generate medical records using Dragon Medical Practice Edition 2 in a word processor like Microsoft Word. We’ve been helping doctors make concise, easy-to-read (and easy to create), documents by combining Dragon Medical with Microsoft Word.
To summarize, Dragon Medical Practice is an ideal medical transcription dictation solution for hospice physicians.
